Mission Statement

Crown Community Food Bank (CrownCom) is a multicultural support network conceived to provide upport to the needy and lonely in our community. The food bank was established on the 7th of April 2019 on a low key and since its inception food donations and deliveries have mainly been done by members of the Crown of Christ Gospel Church, the parent church hosting this event. The food bank was started as part of the church’s community outreach programmes in Bradford.

Vision

It is part of the vision of the church to provide support to the vulnerable and underprivileged in our society, a vision the ministry has implemented in diverse forms since 2014, including by providing periodic support to local charities in Bradford and beyond in our own little ways. We are inspired by the gospel of love, care, grace and compassion taught by our Lord Jesus Christ to create a community network where people can share food and joy together to meet needs and promot friendship and happiness.

Values

We believe that there are sufficient resources in our world to go round if only everyone could think more about what s/he could do to help the underprivileged and lonely.

We provide the best food charity services

Officially launched on the 7th of September 2019, CrownCom is an interactive platform for those in need of food and friendship to meet periodically with a team of local community volunteers to share tea and coffee together, and learn about each other.

CCFB Food Bank Day 2021

Why Choose Us?

We got what it takes. We are officially launched on the 7th of September 2019, CrownCom is an interactive platform for those in need of food and friendship to meet periodically with a team of local community volunteers to share tea and coffee together, and learn about each other.

As a network, our goals are:

  •   To offer regular food aid primarily to all those in our network and ultimately beyond, but within the limits of resources available to us.
  • To support network members who desire to transition from food aid to self-sufficiency to make the necessary transition.
  •  To promote community participation and multicultural understanding.
  • To foster friendship and solidarity among members of the network.
  • To plan and pursue social recreational activities, such as occasional Away-Day trips.
  • To promote life skills learning and self-reliant skills acquisition.

As a community outreach, CrownCom is open to all responsible members of the community regardless of religion, gender, race, ethnic origin and political affiliation. You are welcome to be part of CrownCom. Come to receive support if you are in need of food or friendship. You can also help by:

  • Inviting somebody in need of food to CrownCom
  •  Inviting someone who is lonely and in need of friends.
  •  Coming over to share a cup of tea or coffee with the lonely and needy in our community.
  • Sending in your voluntary donations, such as unexpired tinned and packaged food.
  •  Meeting day: every first Saturday of the month. The purpose of the monthly food bank meeting is to share friendship, refreshment and hand out food bags to members that need them. Apart from the meeting days, registered members of the food bank will have food delivered to their homes on a more regular basis depending on the frequency of provision they have indicated in their membership forms and the limits of our resources.
